Not an expert on Mayflies but they look fine to me Don
I wasn't too sure about the length of the palmer but Im sure some of the Irish blokes will keep you right.

Cheers for the comments DB it would have been interesting to hear if anyone else had anything to say about them.

They're intended not so much for purist wet Mayfly fishing but for maybe retrieving behind a fast drifting boat which is why I kept the Palmers kinda heavy on some of them so's to create maximum disturbance in the water.

Totally new to me, off to Google ... or do we have a step by step here already?

They're based loosely on Irish wet Mayflies Fred with the yellow May being the closest to the original pattern.

The others are based loosely on the same theme but using Guinea fowl for the head hackles and spanflex for the bodies before palmering with various colours of grizzle cock. The blue, yellow and red should work well for big browns, lakers or steelheads in any country .

I like the way Davie breaks the palmer off behind the rib but when I try that the hackle always seems to escape.
