Default Dick Talleur, RIP

Apparently Dick Talleur, the American fly tyer and author, passed away last night at the age of 79.

I have used Talleur's "Guide to Fly Tying" as ` reference book for a few years now, since picking up the book while in America on business. He wrote several books and was a regular writer for the magazines American Angler and Fly Tyer. His writings always taught me something new, or made me look at a fly tying problem from a new perspective.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dick Talleur at the Fly Tying Symposium held in Somerset, New Jersey last year. He was happy to share with me tips on choosing hackles, and Catskill style dry flies. His passion for fly tying and sharing his knowledge was readily apparent. Our hobby/obsession has just lost an educator and a gentleman.
