Straggle fritz

There have been some very nice patterns posed on here in the last wee while using this material.
It is quick to use and gives a great effect.
Question.

Is it the easy option over dubbed seals fur and is seals fur on its way out?
What do you think?

For me dubbing is easier by the time I manage to get the stuff tied in and then wind it without trapping it.

I don't think one is a replacement for the other, more that they each have their own place in patterns. Couldn't imagine your black pennel using fritz somehow Graham.

I must admit i like the look of the stuff. I bought a load of different coloured 5mm the other day but found it to short for what I initially wanted to use it for. The 15mm looks a lot better.
Think I will try some used as a rib over well picked out seals and see what kind of "light" it creates.

I always saw straggle as a hackling alternative rather than dubbing/body.

Ask yerself this question mate... If you could have a lifetimes supply of one, but at the expense of never using the other again... which would you choose? As if I really need to ask

Don't waste too much money on the stuff Graham, or too many good hooks.

Having said all that, there are one or two straggles I'd hate to be without.. but I'd get over it

Black Straggle 'n Silver
Black Straggle 'n Gold ........... for big wets, lures


Small/fine Straggles in mixed silver, gold, U.V. etc ....... wets, dabblers, minkies.

Orange in various sizes

Chartreuse/Flou Green ....... Cat type stuff.
