Hi Snatcher,

They look pretty good to me and nice colours. Im sure they will catch you plenty of pike.

What materials did you use?

They are tied with E.P Fibre but i am having problems with the tails as they look like they are sagging at the back. Think its a bit soft and maybe try to find something a bit stiffer to tie them with.

Hi Snatcher,

I don't think it matters that much if they are a bit "saggy" at the back, its how they perform in the water that is more important. They look like they will have a pulsating action which would be great.

I have tried tying my own pike flies out of rabbit fur, which look ok when dry, but are very difficult to cast when wet. With your flies made out of synthetic fibre, the should be much lighter.

Any chance of a step by step guide on how to tie your flies? Im sure there will be a few people on this forum who would be interested.

nice looking flies... I've been tying similar stuff lately. how did you put the stripes on the material?

A step by step would be good to see how i can speed up my tying.

cheers
JJ

This is my first attempt at tying pike flies but I'm sure i could do a step by step for you. I drew the stripes on with pantone pens and shaded some of the flies with them also. You can start with a basic white fly and work with the pens to create an imitation by shading a colouring the fibres.

I look forward to seeing a step by step guide to the "snatcher" fly.

They must be a lot easier to cast than my rabbit fur oversized zonker flies.

What size hooks are you using?
