Default New budget vise

Hi I need to get a new vise. I mostly tie saltwater flies and sea trout flies so from size 12 to 3/0. i have used a plain spring load c clamp vise for 10 years and it served me well but has loosened now and i need a new one. I wont spend much all i need is a firm grip and being able to rotate the fly would be a bonus. I a cant afford nor justify the upper end vises and i see a lot of affordable /cheap being advertised. Does anyone have experience or a recommendation of a budget vise thanks pat

I upgrade recently to the Snowbee flymate, the one without the ball joint, can't fault it for the money,

Pm Grommit, he will look after you

I also upgraded to the Snowbe Flymate wothout the ball joint. Only cost me £42.00 that was a year ago and I would highly recommend the vice - no need to pay over the odds for a vice as it only has to hold the hook securely.

I have a Snowbee Flymate as well, excellent quality for the price.

I found the rotary mechanism a bit fiddly on mine but after some playing around I got it working the way it should.

I had a regent for about a year. I think they cost 20.00 these days. It served me well and I passed it onto a newcomer. Nothing wrong with them and they are sturdy. I thoroughly recommend the regent for an economy vice.

Chris.
