Default Finger Fly

Can anyone give me any idea why my shabby attempt at a tie twists up my tippet something horrible?

And yes before you say it, the bleedin' thing is stuck in my finger. (Had it surgically removed shortly after the picture was taken)

Have I over hackled it?

Cheers in frustration (and pain!)

I dont think there is anything wrong with the fly
Could it be your cast or the way you are fishing it or is twisting in fast water, these are just ideas however as I dont fish rivers that often.
A little hook like that wouldnt hurt much grip with teeth and pull

I don't think it's my casting as I don't have this issue with any other flies - only the 7 or 8 of these I've tied.

Is the point extremely offset as this can cause the fly to spin like a propeller keep the offset but only about a shankwidth and a half out from where the point should be
