Default A few nymphs

After reading a current thread about how to take and post pictures of flies, I thought I'd get off my ar$e and try and give it a go. I haven't tried this before so please excuse the photos. As for the flies its just playing around with a few ideas I've had. I don't tie very many nymphs, but I want to try a bit of nymphing on my local rivers this year. With a bit of luck some of these might work. Constructive criticism welcome. Always looking to improve.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the kind words lads. Didn't really know what sort of reception to expect. I have to say thank you to all the lads that post on a regular basis as i have learned so much from their photos and patterns. I had a bit of a job trying to post these up today but now that i know how im going to try and do it a bit more often. The one thing i realy like about this forum is how good it is for bouncing ideas about.

Good stuff.

I'm trying to figure out how you did the thorax cover on the top one. When I try and stretch rubbery materials over a bead I always have major problems with it pinging out when tying off at the eye... either that or I end up with an enormous head. I wonder if maybe, instead, you put some bug bond or something down then coloured it up with brown pen.

Can you enlighten me?!

Cheers

Neil

Nice posting Mick, please keep 'em coming.

Neil. what thread are you using, as some of the ones that flatten & have a shiny finish can cause this problem ?
