Tried to tie one of these and it didnt go too well.

Wing didnt sit correctly, as the dubbing was a tiny bit uneven - somewhat difficult to put dubbing on evenly when using the Petotjean tools.

I've heard that the pattern tends to spin when casting.

Any users / tiers out there tried it?

Sorry not tried it mate.
You could try some pre made dubbing brushes..
I picked up some made with CDC and deer hair, floats like a cork.
