thanks fordsflytying, the body is black,or grey silk palmered with cdc then folded over to produce the wing a bit tricky getting the right proportion so the wing is right.B

Nice tying. have been trying cdc palmers myself this evening and it seems with less success then yourself , I find the feather stalk gets quite thick and awkward as i wind up the fly ruining the profile , also do you trim or pluck the underside when I trim them into shape they look very blunt yours however looks great, by the way what hook are you using ? PJ

hI PADDY5 i usualy pluck the palmered part but on this one it turned out still a bit long so i did cut, for the hook there a size 16 from YGA which i find have a wee bit longer shank, i have used these hooks for years and have never let me down(so far ) thanks B
