Default Fly Tying Books?

I'm looking to get some Fly Tying books, but I'm not really sure what to get.

I'm after one with a decent amount of patterns, but it doesn't have to have step by step instructions on how to tie or anything, just a picture of the fly and the materials used would do.

Could anyone recommend any?

Thanks.

dont laugh, fly tying for beginers spiral bound by by Peter Gathercole is a cracker and has 50 fail safe patterns, nymphs spiders wets, dries etc
it has a material and technique guide also, together with a step by step
f you like wet flies Tom Stewart - "Two Hundred Popular Flies" 1979
i have ordered stan headleys loch fishers bible and am looking for a few more loch type books.
i also have plu stiniog by emrys evans which has traditional welsh patterns both dries and wets which is in english also again a loch style tying book but very good imho.

Hello flyfisher17, You should try your local library, but as you live in Scotland you should maybe look to local pattens for your area.
If you PM me with your N&Address I will send you a book on what you want and it will be FOC.

Regards Robbie

Ive got Fishing Flies [Hardcover] by Malcolm Greenhalgh (Author), Jason Smalley (Author) which meets your specs
Fishing Flies: Amazon.co.uk: Malcolm Greenhalgh, Jason Smalley: Books Fishing Flies: Amazon.co.uk: Malcolm Greenhalgh, Jason Smalley: Books

A photo and materials list for all, + a bit of written background on the style or occaisional tip if an unusual or non obvious technique is used. As a novice i found it very helpful as a reference. Seem to be several versions about mine is ISBN 978-0-00-785293-2 but believe they are identical -same title, length and description but subtly different subtitle on the cover.
