Default Help please, tying zonkers

I am a recent convert to Zonkers but I readily admit to being a lousy tyer of them.
Can somebody tell me how to firmly attach the mylar and zonker strip? Whenever I do it, they slip round the hook shank.
I would prefer not to use superglue. I invariably end up with large quantites of assorted fluff stuck to my fingers

Default Tying zonkers

Have a look at Davie McPhails tying a Fry Pattern using Bug Bond, this does away with the mylar tubing and sticky fingers.

Tie the back material in firmly ontop the shank at the start of the bend. Then tie on a wire or oval rib. Next tie in the mylar & then a foundation to fatten up the body. Your thread should be waiting near the eye before you wind a, the foundation/poly-yarn/wool/whatever. b. then follow over with the mylar & tie off at head, at the same point you tied the wool/? trim both away & make neat & secure. c. Bring the back over in position & tie in firmly at the same point, but don't trim it just yet. Lift the fibres of hackle/fur so they point vertically & hold them in place with some spit. Use a dubbing needle to separate individual clumps of material away from their core, a bit like a punk haircut. Take the rib firmly between each mini-clump & tie in at the head, add a hackle if you wish & finish as normal, use a drop of superglue to lock the head & varnish after a few mins.
