Thumbs up

Hi Guys

Heres another one

Yes a red holo diawl bach has been by far my most "deadly" although i think its mainly the "hot head" like the one below that triggers the reaction

Pete i struggled to catch on the DB for a long time.................? then started fishing it on a dropper above a trusted fly and quickly gained confidence in it. I pretty much only tie them on Kamasan B175 size 12 these days it produces the best proportions and it been my most productive size.

I was rather amazed how wild brownies seem to go nuts for the OTT red holo ribbed , hot head daiwl bach !

Whilist during a days fishing i pick up a fish here and there on DB's when fished as part of a team of nymph/buzzzers/wets etc

I dont know about other guys but ive had a few days now were it is the ONLY fly that fish will touch completely ignoring all others flys tried on the cast ??? Taking fish after fish all day and mostly wild browns. Normally when there tons of dead flys on the surface but the trout are "Bulging" the surface without breaking it................"deadly"

Nice work Englander, do you bother with a wire rib going the other way or just change the fly after a few fish?

Default Diawl Bach

The red holo is absolutly deadly on Loch Leven either straight lined or under the BUNG. I must have at least 40 maybe 50 fish on it last year on the loch.

Excellent, like the wide rib adds a bit of fishyness to any fly but I think you obviously shouldn't fish them and send them somewhere to be destroyed, I'll do it for you

Default wide rib

With ya on the wide rib, 12s and 14s were best for me last year had a good bit of luck with the yellow holo over black hearl on the middle dropper. But the claret pusedo hackle trimmed quite short over blue holo on the point was hard to take off the leader. Graet ties just the way i like them.

Cheers FNF
