Varivas 2300 - useless?

Have been trying to tie up a few quill bodies f Flies in size 22 and 24 Varivas 2300 tonite.

Two questions -

1. The hooks are incredibly weak - any pressure bends them - are they useless on the river?

2. I am using oiler puffs as winds - are 2 oiler puff plumes needed or will one suffice?

put 2 on mate.. iv heard alot of bad about there weakness try a tiemco 2487 i think thats the one thats similar..
