Thanx wullie, thought I'd have a go at a darker fly for a change and some more outdoor photograpphy to boot.

Many thanks seanie, stewart01, stig and broontrout, split opinions there, I'm not sure personally which one would be the better catcher but will hopefully put them to the test, probably not suited to the same conditions though.

Broontrout, here is the recipe for the mr majestic

Hook - tied on a kamasan longshank size 10 but a wider gaped hook would be a better substitute.
Thread - claret coloured or similar
Tail - a few partidge hackle fibres (browny red)
Body - Bright red seals fur over-dubbed (loose turns so some red shows through) with claret hare. Body is kept fairly short well before the bend.
Rib - gold oval tinsel
Palmered hackle - furnace hackle
Neck hackles - larger furnace hackle covering a creamy white partidge (stripped on one side of the feather) and final cloaking of dyed blue guinea fowl or blue jay.
