March & April are good months for the duckfly. Blae & Black is an old one and still works well but try any of your favourite duckfly patterns. On Lough Leane, as well as the recognised duckfly 'holes', the fly will also hatch in deeper water and the trout will feed on them out there, especially the drowned adults so don't neglect the deeps

I usually fish 'em in 12/14s. Have seen locals using 10s in a wave

Hi.
Friends and clubmates who know the lake very well, have always stressed the importance of small lightly dressed wets 14/16s black being important,pennells/conamarras/watsons/kates as well blae type dressings. PJ

Small Jungle Bunnies - even better tied with legs, Sooty Olive and Watson's all in 14's.

Jungle Bunnies for me, everytime.
