If you have a lead underbody on that fly Loopy you can make it sink faster and look even more lifelike by taking a pair of smooth jawed pliers and squeezing the fly flat in a vertical plane. It will cut through the water and get down quicker and it will be closer in shape to the real thing...

Naw cut a small eliptical piece of lead and wrapped it under the hook hump (guess there is a proper name for this bit but it escapes me for the moment.

Hook is like this..........

Used wine bottle lead which is pretty soft may have to look at getting a thicker piece and follow RW's advice.

Proper lead foil on the wine bottles ,let me loose in your Cellar , its been a fair while since there was good lead on most except real to end wines !
used to be easy to find on even pub glass wines !
BTW loved the woodstock clip on the blog !
