Default My late sunday afternoon fly

Tied this afternoon on a size 12 kamasan B405
Thread - brown pearsills silk
Tail - golden pheasant topping
Body - cream and fiery brown seals fur with a smattering of yellow seals fur
Rib- gold wire
Palmered hackle - small furnace cock hackle
Neck hackles - light ginger cock hackle and a larger furnace cock hackle and cloaked with a partridge hackle from the back of the bird.

Nice wee fly Mark the only bit I dont care for is the chopped tail and would have used floss or even just hackle fibres.

Like the fly Mark, but perhaps you should have kept it a "Secret"

Oh you know that book maharg, someone bought me it for xmas, its quite a read that one.

Thanks everyone for the advice, yes I know sacral sacrilla sacr......terrible, chopped golden pheasant topping, but it was the last piece I had left which unfortunately had been chopped but I thought I might aswell use it and that if I kept it long I might get away with it but erm......no, but its a fly and will hopefully catch a troot or 2

Although the photo doesnt show it, the recipe suggests there are some very nice colour harmonies going on! Love it, and have copied the recipe, will defo tie it, but with a nice tail :-), and hope to give it a swim on Ullswater or Haweswater some time!

Thanks mancfly I appreciate your good words there, hope you get some luck with that in the Lakes, boy is that tail getting some stick! who started that anyway, oh that dabhoy might have known, well I've got better tails to come but I'm sure he was only trying to help.
