Default Cheeky blue

Tied this today, quite an assortment of colours going on here so might create a bit of a flash in the water, it's tied on a kamasan B405 size 12.

Cheeky blue

Thanks bigtroot, yes its a big wave fly alright, I gave it an extra long hackle to give it some interplay with the tail while in the water, should be interesting.

Ok bigtroot i'll do my best here,

Tying thread - olive 6/0 or 8/0
Tail - red floss and teal
Body - dubbed with olive hare and oval silver tinsel rib
Palmered hackle - golden olive cock hackle
Neck hackle - black cock hackle cloaked with a guinea fowl hackle dyed blue or you could use jay.

The tail could be a bit tricky as the teal flanks the red floss on both sides (one bunch of teal tied in separately at each side in a fan) the floss is obviously cut to size first before the teal is put on, but don't trim the ends of the teal, rather place them so as they are about level with the end of the red floss.

i'd be interested to see your version when youv'e finished.

Good luck
