Default Tonights offerings

Winter tying has been slow so decided to get my **** into gear and churn out some of my favourite patterns, results are below. Your comments and CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms would be very helpful, I still have a hell of a lot to learn!

Spanflex nymph

Olive PT Nymph

Tan emerger

Olive Dun

CDC Spinner

I promise they were all taken tonight, for some reason the white balance on my little digi compact went nuts and I cant figure out how to sort it!

Not much going wrong there mate
The only point I would make, and I suffer from the same problem, is finding fine enough rubber legs for nymphs.
oh also, take your pictures in daylight.
All the best to you and yours,
Graham

The hunt goes on!!!!!!!!!!!!

New product being reviewed in FFand FT this month fron Veniard. Wee wiggly tapered legs all joined together.
Look good, but somehow these things tend to disappoint!
Will just have to wait and see.

Cracking work Daniel. Super ties. All a little bit 3 wt for my liking but quality work all the same.

Now then... does that 'emerger' actually emerge, or does it just sink like a stone? Does the CDC manage to hold up that hook?

Watch yer white balance on those pictures

Nothing much wrong with them - nice work.

Graham, have you looked in the coarse section of a tackle shop, pole elastic can be had in loads of different sizes and colours - it might do the trick.

All my fishing is a little bit 3 wt these days lol, get too tired flicking a big rod around (just not used to it i suppose)

The emerger does emerge if I flukily cast it gently, does not tolerate being smacked down though. I have a few tied up with 4 feathers in the loop instead of 2 and they float like cork, dont look as pretty for a picture though.

P.s.
Any advice on white balance, my camera seemed to randomly decide when my white background was actually white and when i used GIMP to try and balance them all afterwards some of them ended up with such hideous noise that I had to resort to leaving them orange. Mesed the colour up of a few of the flies unfortunately. Guessing the answer is better lighting and a decent camera.

nothing wrong with a little 3 wt i stopped using bigger rods years ago as have bad back, now its a shorty cane, carbon, fibreglass, unless i go to farmoor or bushy then only a 6/7 rod max 9ft, which is not often. lucky for me have been in the S A D C wiltshire many years and hope a few more to come, not so good a tying these days only do a few patterns like p/tail or hares ear, odd buzzer. yours will catch fish no doubt what trout could resist
