Default Question regarding smoking

I have my own study in a room in my house. When I take a break tying I have always wanted to have a cigarette or smoke my pipe tobacco in my study. Will this cause the fish to avoid my fly? Does the smell of smoke put off trout?

Only the none smoking ones.
I wouldn't have thought so to be honest, but there again who knows.

When you think of how much tackle is stored in old metal tobacoo tins.I doubt it.

Post Re smoking

A late mate of mine who liked to trot the worm wouldn't touch his bait if he had just finished a rollup of old holburn, he would rub his hannds in the earth and bankside vegetation to take the smell of tobacco of his hands. I can't honestly say he caught more fish than me and I smoked the same baccy so each to their own. I don't think it would affect flies though as the act of casting must take any smell out of the materials imho.
