Default Dabbler Swop

I have too much time on my hands and as I have just started tying again, was wondering if anyone is interested in a swop say Dabblers. I am happy to organise it. 10 or 12 contributors I can manage. Closing date about 17th March. Anycontributor from Rep of Ireland welcome as I have no problems with postage.
Put up on board if you are interested and pm me yopur contact details and I will send mine.
Did a Green peter one last year and it went well I think--with one exception. But he has been hammered enough on this forum.
Good Luck
Michael

Default Dabbler Swap

I wouldn't mind joining in on this one as I always enjoy tying Dabblers - "Golden Dabbler variant"

re Savage Take "have you ever seen a Dabbler". As far as I know it was originally based on a tying of a gentleman called McClern from Dromore Co Down(school nick name "Dabbler" who wanted to tie a Rogan Gosling but couldn't manage the Mallard head hackle (like so many others) and instead tied the mallard around the hook.
At least that is the story told in MALONE'S BOOK. Saw the original dabblers many years ago and in fact Malone makes a good point in that he feels the fly is not a lure but represents the stage of the nymph shedding its sac and the wings starting to break the surface film of water.
Whatever are you in and sure lets tie an extra fly for CFR

I'd like to have a stab at this, finally cracked bronze mallard cloaking at the weekend, bit more practice wouldn't hurt a bit
