Open the jaws and stick a hook in it!
Happy tying Scott.

Hi the Snowbee AR vice is no longer in production but can still be purchased from old stock. Gwilym Hughes who used to visit these boards (not sure if he still does or not) had a hand in its design. It is true rotation vice, you can use the general purpose vice jaws, or remove them and employ the Tube fly head for tying Tube flies. The other stainless steal heads have a wire loop in the end of them, which is where you can secure the hook in the bend of the hook and tighten the wire loop to secure it. Below is some info which may be of use to you.

Hope this helps

Product Description

Never before has there been a Fly Tying Vice of such versatility,at such an affordable price. Designed by Albert Roberts and Professional Fly-Dresser Gwilym Hughes (APGAI), this groundbreaking new fly tying system is already receiving fantastic reviews across the UK. The Snowbee AR Vice is characterised by a unique and superbly engineered 'Interchangeable Wire and Tube Fly Head System'.Each tool allows the fly dresser to manipulate the fly through an incredible 360 ºof Horizontal and Vertical Rotational Symmetry. Each complete outfit comprises of three Stainless Steel 'Fly'heads,a Brass 'Tube-fly' head,Vertical and Horizontal Extension bars,Pedestal Base,Table Clamp,Cloth Carry Bag and Accessories. All three sizes of Stainless Steel heads contain a fine wire loop arrangement that locks the fly in any position along the bend of the hook, exposing more of the hook to fly tying than anything seen before. The smallest head, designed specifically for micro-flies,is capable of holding hooks as small as #28.The medium head is used for hooks ranging between #14 and #2 and the largest head is capable of holding some of the biggest saltwater fly hooks available.

The Tube-fly Head comes complete with a central Spindle-pin and an anti-reverse locking 'Cone'head. This amazing new concept allows the tube to be held in position with the silicone sleeve already in place, making it the perfect choice for the speedy tube-fly dresser.Once the tube is locked in position the release lever comes into play and full rotational symmetry is achieved, left or right handed.

All Vices come with a purpose designed carrying bag, spare head wires, full instructions and a 5yr Manufacturers Warranty.

Up until recently I was using one but have now moved on to a renzetti.
It is a good enough vice but the jaws were getting a bit worn. You can use the stems with the wire for tying as it was hoped to be the new system but I got a bit fed up with having to change them if I was needing to use a different size hook.
I will probably use it again for tying tubes and salt water patterns.
