Angry C and F bobbin threader

Do you have to use the c and f £2.50 arm and leg threader or will a normal one like you find in most fishing shops do.

The c and f bobbin has a piece of "micro slit foam to ensure constant thread tension" stupid designers should be thinking more about KISS engingeering.

It depends on what size C&F bobbin you got on the small one you have to use the original one. I also have the medium and I've found that another threader will suffice I do have to say the slit foam on that one is bigger now then when I bought them.

Hope this helps,

Jerry

Default C & F threader

Hi

I have just repaired one of these for a friend.

A normal threader from your local fishing tackle shop will probably not work.

He tried a few threaders at out tying club without any success.

I eventually sourced 0.2mm stainless steel wire to replace the wire that had snapped where it is folded over.

If your has also failed at the same place, perhaps a quick call to the importers may result in a replacement.

At £2.50, it doesen't seem too bad compared with the cost of trying to locate 0.2mm wire.

If you get no satisfaction from the importer, send me a SAE and I will post you a length of wire pre bent to the correct shape for you to glue into the little black bead.

Heat the wire next to the bead with a lighter to break the bond between the wire and the bead and then drill it out with a 0.5mm drill. (or send the whole thing to me with the SAE and I will sort it for you).

regards

Kevin.

Have a great Christmas and New Year

Roll cast sadly it seems you have to buy the right tool ...... but its worth it, it's a really great bobin holder.
I could only find packs of three when i bought mine...SO i have two sat here waiting for me to loose one. PM me your address and i will send you one of the spare ones. Just dont accuse me of getting into the spirit of christmas!
