Well it looks ok. The design is fairly simple so not much to go wrong really. Only thoughts would be the quality of the jaws. They highlight Jap steel so they seem happy with them.

It's about time vices of that type came down in price. From an engineering point of view there's not much there, should be simple to manufacture. If the jaws proved over time not to be up to scratch, I'd imagine it would be easy enough to replace them with something from another manufacturer.

The seller has a good record and is willing to replace were there a problem. Also there are 4 days left so plenty of time to talk with the seller. Find out the postage cost though. They can prove costly from some parts of usa.

I'd go for it at that price.

Chris

It looks OK Owen, But be weary of the postage costs. They are not specified in the add. It might be worth contacting them in this regard.

Owen.....this is Not Japanese, but Chinese..I checked it out quite a while back, and found out that they are an import even to the American supplier.

As noted above, pretty much a Renzetti copy. The only thing that would concern me is the stainless steel jaws. Not as tough as case hardened or tool steel, they'll probably lose a hold, especially on small hooks, after a while. I suppose it depends on how much it's used. Still, at the price, it's not bad.
