Finger fitting hackle pliers

Has anyone any experience of how to use this tool? Essentially its a ring which fits on one finger with a little "grasper" attached to fit on the hackle. Feels awkward

I bought one a while back - can't get to grips (no pun intended) with it at all.

I have one to. I tried letting it hang down whilst it gripped the feather and inserted the tip of my finger and began to wind gently. Sort of worked untill clumsy me snapped the feather. Like a lot of tools some suit some people and not others. It works ok if you simply hold the ring.
Quickly got bored with it and bought a Tiemco rotary. Never looked back. But tools, as said, suit some. Can't imagine who though .
