Default A simple fly!

A Pennel Variant...... Tied this tonight whilst listening to the Hearts game on the radio. Must have been influenced by the Edinburgh club's colours.

Lovely fly. Have used black ostrich with some success on Mevin. Think that claret hackle is just right.
See that lot of nonsense "how does he get away with it" well your fly is the answer to all that
Happy Christmas and peace to all anglers north or south of the Watford Gap

Nice Jock,

This is the style wet fly I tie here (for trout & char) long hackles and most are dark. Usually my hackles are longer sort of Spey style because I'm looking to imitate a fish fry.

Nice fly Jock, very nice indeed. I'm sure that would go down very well on a nice breezy day on Corrib.

Chris.

I can see how listening to a Hearts game on the radio would drive you to distraction Jock.Nevertheless a nice Mallard and Claret'y look to it and I'd be happy to put one of those on my cast if I was after the broonies.
