Hi Stuart,

Dry fly, wet fly? Any chance of a picture of what is happening to you with this?

Hope this helps, quicker than explaining.
Davie is using bronze mallard here but its exactly the same method as using teal. Folding is a better description rather than rolling.
You could try moistening the wing slightly before tying in to help hold it together. Before tying in, using pinch and loop, make sure the wing is touching the top of the hook shank, no gap.

Thumbs up

Hi Stuart, welcome to the Forum.

Mancfly's post is spot on. For 'teal' series patterns I often substitute wigeon flank feathers as I can get locally shot birds. Don't go paying top dollar for paired flank feathers; cheap and cheerful willl do for this style in the usual #10 sizes anyway.
