Default Shopping For Feather Merchants;

Hello,

I live in Alaska USA and am a member on The North American side of this forum. I tie primarily for salmon but enjoy making wet flies for trout & steelhead as well. If anyone here can point me toward a merchant who can provide whole skin Blue Eared pheasant (by PM please) it would be appreciated.

I am looking for suitable hackles for flies like the one here but I generally tie on a #4 Bartleet hook for trout. Manny thanks for any tips,

Ard

Hi Alberto,

It is either that or Rhea, I forget what I used. I do use marabou by bleaching it to remove the herl and then dying it to desired colors. The flies with the long and full hackles like that work well here for trout & char. My home rivers have good salmon runs and eventually I will post some pictures of fish and some of the patterns that catch them here.
