Danny are you sure those wings are secure? it's great if they are but soak the fly give them a tug and make sure before you tie up a load of them.
Like the red trigger back at the hook.

Yes very sure , it is wound on as a hackle then parted top and bottom .

Is just a one off anyway as I am bored , I have much simpler spent patterns that do the bizz

No the mirage is only used to part the fibers and keep them in place , to form "wings" , as I said wound on as a hackle , a tried a tested method
