Default Ephemeropera Spreadsheet

I want an A3 Sheet to show-

All ephemeropera species in the UK, 37?
How common?
Location?
When?
Size?
Identification criteria?
Colour?
Suggested artificials and size?
Presentation suggestions?

Where can I find such a sheet or where is the best place to source the information?

I do not want to carry a book, however small.

Any suggestions?

Rusty

Hi Rusty,

John Goddard's 'Riverside Guide' and 'Trout Flies of Europe' as well as the 'The Flyfisher's Handbook' have tabulated most, if not all, of that data. Its not in one sheet though as they work on a month by month basis but it would be easy to scan and carry the relevent page or two with you.

Here's a list to start with: The British Ephemeroptera
You will note there are more than 37 species, some are very scarce.

Not exactly a spreadsheet, but a helpful source of fancy sounding Latin names
NHBS - A Key to the Adults of the British Ephemeroptera - JM Elliott and UH Humpesch

on second thought: you mentioned you do not wish for a book, so please disregard my post

Default Ephemeroptera Spreadsheet

Thanks for the information offered.
It looks like I will have to create my own.
An interesting diversion.
Rarely is the level of detail just right for we piscators!
Regards
Rusty

Hi Rusty,

You'll find the info in the books I have recommended just right as it is written by fly fisherfolks for fly fisherfolkses. Appreciate your restriction on carrying a book and requirement for an A3 sheet but its all there in John' Goddard's Waterside Guide which is a nice wee tome suitable for a waistcoat. Or more suitable for what you want - a couple of scans from the The Flyfisher's Handbook will be useful enough and they'll just need updated by the month (or thereabouts!).

Or if you choose to do an A3 sheet I am sure you could flog a few of those!!???
