Default BugBond

Hi all
Any one using the above for buzzer bodies instead of Sally Hanson. If you have how do you find it.
Got some, but yet to use it on buzzers

Thanks Gaz

I have been using the brushable version of Clear Cure Goo for buzzers.

Such a breathe of fresh air!

I used to have to coat my buzzers with 3 or 4 coats of Sally Hansens, each coat taking longer to dry than the last and all the fuffing around with a rotary dryer. You can bet that at least one out of 12 flies would have a sag in the varnish...

Not any more!

The brushable CC Goo goes on in one coat, stays "wet" as long as I want it to so I can make sure the whole pattern is coated, then a few seconds with the UV torch and it's done!

Lovely, glass like finish, time saved!

Kind regards

What I like about the Sally Hansons is that it sets very hard, and if there is any damage from having it mauled by a fish, it's dead easy to touch up. My experience of 5-minute epoxy is that it isn't so hard, and eventually turns opaque and peels off. That may just be my tying though. How does the CC Goo/Bug bond compare for hardness and staying put?

Cheers

Just to clarify for those that do not know , "Bug Bond" is NOT a 5 min epoxy . It is a UV curing resin that takes a few seconds under the UV torch to go rock solid .

So solid it can be used for fitting rings to rods also .

That's my free sample in the bag

What i like about Sally's is it adds weight (depending on the number of coats obviously), regardless of how subtle it is,it can make the difference to the fly sinking quicker.
Having said that i have yet to try Bug Bond or Clear Goo so ignore what i say!

No you need the correct UV torch to set it hard.
A kit is £29.95 and will last you a LONG time.
Once you have used the bottle up you can just buy another bottle without needing a new torch.
The Bug Bond Lite is thinner is imho suits buzzers more.
I have sold £1000's worth of BugBond in the last couple of months and had nothing but praise back about it.
Have a look at David's blog to read what Chris Sandford has said about Bugbond.

If anyone needs any more info about it pm me or send me an email.
