Default Anything wrong with nail varnish?

For my flies, obviously - not me.

I've been using it since I ran out of normal varnish, and wondered if there's any inherent weakness with it.

Nope, nowt wrong with it, it's fine. I prefer it to stuff like veniards etc... way too thin.

Cheap stuff can turn brown and sludgy in saltwater.

How about colours? My daughter's got a black that I've been using for heads. Is clear better?

Some people prefer to use thread of the colour that they want the head to be with clear varnish over, and others will use a coloured varnish to get the desired head colour. Ultimately it's up to you, but I generally use the clear varnish method as you only need one sort of varnish.

I have used all sorts of different colours but mainly clear and my favourite is Rimmel 60 second as good as if not better than hard as nails.

Best nail varnish to use for the flies is rimmel 60 seconds I nicked the girlfriends put it on as a first coat and then your clear varnish/superglue the heads turn out bright and great on shrimp flies IMO

This is my favorite as well, now to find something better than super glue.
