Default Veniard Super Stretch Floss

Hello all i was in my local tackle shop & noticed a pack of this stuff in medium Olive hanging up.Just tied up a snowshoe emerger easy stuff to work with stretches like hell if you want a slim body. But have read a few people complaining about some of these stretch floss materials degrading & your flies falling apart. If i tie a load of these flies up would they be durable & not fall apart. Cheers

If you buy some underwear, it inevitably contains some form of elastic to enable it to stretch to hold it in place. Lycra/Spandex are water-resistant forms of elastic. But they do not last forever. The material you've bought is either one of these types of product, so if permanently stretched it will have a reduced lifespan compared to when it's un-stretched. Certain colours are less resistant to u.v. than others in materials & elastics, so some colours will last less than others.

You can wind the stuff over wet(& thick grade) superglue, it will extend its life a bit but not much. Latex *dental dam) bodied flies look fantastic, especially when marked with Pantone's & the like but they very soon disintegrate into a sticky mass.
