Default Whip finishers.

All this recent talk about these things has made me have another look at one that I have.
It is brand new, but I can't for the life of me fathom it out.
Listen carefully, and I will try and explain how it looks, if that doesn't work, I will post a pic.
5" long with a brass handle, top end has what I can only describe as a pigtail, like the letter S on its side.
From the centre of it is a spring loaded piece of wire which looks like a safety pin on one side, and a hook on the other end.
The spring wire is fixed, i,e it doesn't rotate on the stem.
Any help please before I throw it at Mrs T.

Just before you go to sleep, you might have a vision of a frying pan. Other than that, RTFM.

Best I can manage is this,
Hook your thread on the pig tail bit then hook onto the spring loaded part. Form a 90 degree angle with the whip finisher, with the hook and handle on the same horizontal axis.Turning the handle , on the same axis should whip the thread at the head of the fly. When you have completed the turns, un hook the pig tail bit and slowly pull the thead tight, this will bring the spring part up to the eye. Whe you reach the eye slip off the whip finisher and tighten the very last piece of thread.
Hope that helps

That's the one i have used for years!
You have no idea how hard it is to get, you have to go to really cheap nasty shops to find them, they normally sell army surplus, smell of dogs and are next to the chippy
