Hook: Tiemco 101 #18
Thread: GSP 50, brown
Tail: Microfibbets split with thread
Body: Superfine, brown
Wing: Deer hock

Wing could be better but it gets a little fiddly for my fat fingers at this size. (Boy my Dyna-king midge jaws are looking a little mangled!)

Those black tips on the deer hock looks really nice in close up.
That thread is Brown? I need to look at my screen settings it's olive green from where I am sitting.

( yep and your focus is getting there!)

Yeah I had trouble with the white balance and couldn't be bothered doing it again. I was having trouble because the 3/4 view meant there was quite a magenta cast to the top of the backplate (look at the top left of the top image). I slightly over-corrected that and got a very slight green cast to the rest. The colour of the thread at the hook eye is likely also tinted by a little wax and perhaps even the colour of the hook. (It's very slight - have you guys profiled your monitors?)

I was thinking about little Iron Blue (Baetis niger) duns when I was tying these. Dark brown bodies "tinged olive". (I figure the Superfine will darken considerably when wet.) I had been tying some deer hair emergers with the same wing style on Tiemco 212Y #15 hooks and decided to keep practicing the wing technique.

Well that's just GREAT!! I spend half a frustrated hour trying to get the colours right before smashing the useless heap of LaCie monitor poo into a thousand pieces. And Now you 'Fess up' to posting dodgy photos.

Too late for excuses buddyboy. You owe me a new computer screen! (anyone else need a new screen... it's steve kales round!)

Well depite colours it's still a nice fly.
