Default today I have mainly been tying...

Hare's Ear Spider

This fly has been nearly 30 years in the making, as thats how long it's been since I last tied a fly and this is the first attempt since then, proportions could be a bit better but room for improvement.

thanks

Real nice fly , I'd be proud of it.

Liking the scruffed out body although if you want a spider a slight thinner body would be better. Only thing I don't like is the red ball of dubbing behind the hackle doesn't look right IMHO compared to the scruffed out main body.

All in all excellent should be proud of it.

Thanks roll cast, maybe I'll call it the chunky hare's ear spider. Yes the rods are starting to rear their ugly heads Steven but wether they still work or not ...erm we will have to see

Very sexy, is it weighted underneath that sexy sweetie wrapper.?
I tied some the other day with wrappers from black currant toffee's.

Thanks andypandy, still a long way to go yet, here's another shrimp, not as flash as the last one.
