Bulb for Daylight Fly Tyers Lamp

Hello

I have a Daylight Fly Tyers Vice Lamp . I understand that these are no longer made and have been discontinued by Daylight.

I need a new bulb , halogen 10 w , 12 v , anyone any idea where I may find this ?
Also , are there any another options regarding the type of bulb I may use , perhaps something brighter ?

I think you may struggle to obtain a replacement because it is a one - off special type of bulb with a unique fitting.


If your stuck, pm me your address and I'll send you the bulb out of mine - I don't use it anymore - I bought a better one at Maplins.

I think that you are spot on with your observation.

I took delivery of what I thought I needed but it is not the same.

I tried to take out the old bulb and can see what you mean by being a one off !

I am now more or less decided on getting a new lamp for my fly tying, any recommendations?

If you check out OTT lights on ebay, you may find them cheaper than buying direct....

Obadiah69, I must have read your mind as I picked one of these up at Maplins at the end of last week. On promo , only £ 19.99 !!

It is a fair bit bigger than my Daylight lamp but sheds significantly more light.

Looking back I have to say that the Daylight lamp was a poor buy , in terms of cost , performance and I shudder to think what a bulb would have cost had I found one.
