Default Stuck Shuck Buzzer patterns

Hi All,

I was introduced this fly as an acquaintances 'secret weapon', and would like to try and tie a few myself.

I have checked te SBS threads but the ones in there have a hackle (which I will of course be trying) but would like to try the type tied by North Country Angler in the below thread:

Stuck Shuck Buzzers.

Does anyone have/know of a SBS for this pattern?

Please feel free to post pics of your own ties, the more the merrier.

Rich

It looks like, that he's tied a "veil" or shroud of a fine crystal-flash type material behind the thorax so that it trails part way along the body then behind the shank. The strands could then be tacked together slightly with a clear flexible sealant.

Yes, it's a few strands of crinkled zelon tied in under the thorax then given a tiny drop of HAN. Are they more successful than conventional buzzers? Sometimes, but they aren't the answer to all questions, so to speak.

Try a search for Davie McPhail's emerging Midge pupa video - it has the shuck etc, you would just need to add either foam or CDC to the head.
