Default This morning's efforts...

I would probably class myself as a competent beginner but I do like to make use of material that I don't have to pay for!

Ha! close, that is the twine/cord from an old Tescos shopping bag that was going in the bin at work. I've used it in nymph bodies before but I saw that fly tied somewhere else and thought it matched quite well.

Also bit of polythene freezer bag for the buzzer body.

Very cool Russell.
One last question, second last photo, whats the spikey dubbing on the buzzer head, it suggests legs etc and is just the right "mix", i want to copy it!?

Should work a treat.
One point though, carp hooks are generally a bit meaty. Have you tried the flies in a glass of water to see if they actually float?
Might need to up the foam or get a lighter hook.
All the best to you and yours,
Graham

Thanks for the kind words,

Buzz, the dubbing in the third photo is synthetic living fibre - natural hare. The reason it looks like that answers Graham's question, it had just come out of a glass of water as had the second one, you can probably see they're still wet.

Admittedly the second one did sit a little too low in the water.
