I have just been reading about unibobbers, can anyone tell me if they are on the market and if so where to get them.

Don't waste your money, hard to hold in one place and near invisible at any sort of distance.

If your using an indicator i find this IMO is the best stuff out there ..and reusable again and again

you can add or take off as much as you want to suit conditions and weight of flies etc , to suit differing depths tie one of these on your leader..

i generally use 4lb fluoro for the sliding stop knot and leave about an eigth to a quarter inch tags at each end , then mould the putty around the knot and the whole lot can be slid up and down to suit depth ,if you dont mould it around a knot or something the leader will eventually cut through the putty..

i think the "unibobber" in question is the one used on fly patterns

unibobbers - Google Search

not the "thingamabobber"

http://www.google.com/images?um=1&hl...=&oq=&gs_rfai=

i have used the "thingamabobbers" and never had one slip

Thingabobbers only come in half inch and three quarter inch and are too big to use directly onto flies. The unibobber comes in a small size of quarter inch and is the size used in the TTF article. I got a supply from Stirling AnglingCentre just the other day - price at just over £2 per pack of six in either white or chartreuse.

Hope this helps

Jaykay
