Default How to store materials etc

Whats the best way to store the various fly tying materials these days, are there any new concepts that I should know about or any recommendations on small cabinets etc as I'd like to keep things in an organised fashion and not like a chicken plucking factory.

Thanks

wingman

I use a 4 drawer plastic unit. 2 deep drawers and 2 shallow drawers with a divider making 2 compartments. In the top is a lift up lid with 8 small compartments in. The whole lot is on castors. It is 36 cms wide, 43 cms deep and 70 cms high including castors. the 2 deep drawers are 18 cms high and the smaller ones are 8 cms high. The top section with lid is 4 cms high. its made by Technoplast and I have had the thing for quite a few years.
I have seen other drawer units but they don't have the top lid section.

Thanks, that sounds like an interesting piece of kit there, a very good storage solution for the longterm.

Hey that looks great bruce1 but it says there are none left and that was in 2009, if you know where I can acquire one that would be much appreciated. I like the idea of a bag, if the old girl kicks me out in a hurry I'll know what to grab first.

Zip-top clear pvc A4 folders hold loads of stuff & keep it flat as well as being insect-resistant. I used to buy them in £1 shops/Wilkinsons (4 for a £1) they can then be stored on plastic storage boxes. To store loose dubbing, use coin collectors sheets or photo slide holder sheets with 16/20 pockets in them these can then be kept in a special ring-binder file.
