Default Loco Foam Beetle

Evening.
Posted this product of the afternoon's noodlings on me blog just now....but thought I'd show it you lot aswell.
The last couple of weeks have seen me in full "small land bred stuff dropping out of trees and getting sipped down by grayling" mode and in looking through me drawers for some suitable back material, stumbled upon this sexy loco foam stuff which I'd filed under the 'interesting' category, but never got around to using.
Look, I know that the fish will see precious little of the irridescent back, but it's got me all excited so frankly, I don't care. All I need now is chance to get out on the bloody river...........

Green Beetle
Hook: Partridge SLD #18,20
Thread: 14/0 green
Underbody: rusty brown microbrite (extra fine)
Back: Loco foam in tiger beetle green
Throrax: a sparse pinch of prismatic SLF in peacock

Laters. I'm off to indulge in the campfest that is Strictly Come Dancing.....

Excellent Matt, but we didn't need to know about your Ann Widdecombe infatuation. I don't eat until 7pm.
Eden grayling await your company, and those beetles.

This one's a bit like Rufus Wianwright, Sir Ian McKellan, and that Brian lad who one Big Brother a few years back..... totally gay, but I like it. I'm afraid I can't say the same for your choice in Saturday evening TV though.... 'Strictly' Totally gay, yes.... but I don't like it

Tear yerself away from that beast Widdecombe, and man yer bettle up a bit

Nice little beetle.
I tied some using the copper foam, used copper mini fritz for the body with the foam over the top which I darkend by colouring with a brown permanant marker pen. Just need to use them.
