Default saddles for wet flies

Hi all could any one please tell me what is the best cock saddles to use for pamering bodies of wet flies mainly 10s and some 12s,i have used metz saddles and find some are ok,but others are more suited to smaller sizes, and can you give me the name of a good source for the above many thanks Duncan

Personally I use Whiting Capes, I find them good for all my tying. I buy mine from Pat Nolan in Nenagh.

You could also use good old indian cock capes.
Cheap as chips, and have a built in taper that saddles can lack.

If you look on the Amertican tackle store websites (Bears den for example)you will find Whiting "Flat Wing" hackle
This is by far their best product for hackling larger flies, I bought half a dozen different dyed capes at $30 each last year. Three of them are mainly sizes 10 and 12,two tie 12 and 14s and the third incredibly is nearly all 14 and 16's
The feathers are around 14 to 16 inches long and the saddles are very thick with very fine stems.
