A very effective fly; the Grayling certainly love it

You can also consider tying it with an orange tip - good for early season Trout fishing. Over here the green arsed one is called Uhorčík and orange one Hrajnoha (after legendary Slovak bandits and folk heroes).

Cheers!

J.

I found that out this week much to my surprise.
I was thinking about late season trout attracting colors (our season ends in a couple of weeks) and thought i would copy the well known Loch fly "The Viva" and ended up with the above.
Funny though all it would take is Grayling whereas one of my pink arsed Grayling flies only took trout!
Never take anything for granted.

Oh and thanks for the link again, off to dig out the Hares Ear.
Next week the Kate McLaren.......

Really nice fly, but what I really want to know is - what's going on with that backdrop? Looks great - much more interesting than the usual grey or white etc.
So you've got bank notes, euro's, tabasco packaging... Is it a secret message? You're not calling in a hit or something... ?
