I had no idea, that's why I was asking!

It's listed on the fishtweed website under tackle advice

"Flies to bring....
....Some of the most widely used patterns are Junction Shrimp, Willie Gunn, Comet, White Wing, Garry Dog, Yellow Tosh, Ally's Shrimp, Cascade Shrimp, Plop Fly, Temple Dog, Purple Shrimp and the Thunder & Lightning."

Apparently it's Willie Gunn colours tied with fox fur on a bottle tube or heavy conehead. They are fished sink and draw.

Carp apparently take berries from the surface, and the plop they make when dropping in is an attractor. A plop fly pattern could be much the same as a deerhair bread or pellet fly but of a size and colour appropriate to the berry. Worth trying IF the wild fishery in question has overhanging trees with berries AND you can see carp feeding on them.

I have seen many times over here where a local pattern gets named and popular, but no one outside of that town/local area know anything about it.
