Hi Ben
Is everything ok?
I was a little worried reading the first post you put up about having little time left??
I hope everything is ok.

Toby, everything is fine, really good infact, just don't really have the time for flyfishing and don't really enjoy anymore, I even find fly tying a real chore. I've got plenty of coarse fishing to keep me busy, just I live in the wrong area for the sort of flyfishing I love doing.

Such a shame Ben, no doubt you have your reasons.
You have some fantastic stuff for sale, I know, I bought some of it.
Anyone out there thinking about buying from Ben, don't hesitate, all top quality gear, well priced and a gentleman to deal with.
Steven.

If I kept anything, I think I would then regret letting anything go, so it's all got to go. Besides, it's not just flyfishing stuff that I've sold, also sold all my beachfishing stuff, bu##er I hate living in the Fens sometimes, too bloody far away from everything. But I'm enjoying my polefishing at the mo, getting some really good bags of silverfish, and next week I plan to tackle the Ouse's barbel population with it! That will annoy the purists!!

pole fishing for BARBEL! you better have a 20+ elastic mate, they run like a train! lb for lb barbel are the strongest freshwater fish.
dont go smashing your pole on them mate you'll be gutted, get a feeder rod out with trout pellet and method feeder
sorry to hear your giving up the tying.. even barbel fishing can use a bit of vice.. tying hair rigs and a little secret tye your hair rig up then dub over the top with colours to suit the bottom then scruff it out, do it green for weed look and brown and beige for clay/mud and silt.. go on, keep your vice

Yep polefishing for barbel!! It's all planned, 20lb carp can be caught on pole so can barbel, I've had them to 10lb 15oz from the middle reaches of the Trent, boy did that pull hard. Believe it or not, I have bits of marabou with my carp rig bits.

wait till you hit into a 12lb+ there force increases immensely.. not like lazy fat carp, barbel get stronger by the lb as you know these puppys are all muscle its down to living in constant fast flows, these fish swim when they sleep
i do miss a bit of barbel fishing.. send me some pics so i can sulk
good luck mate, Tight lines
