Default Rio 10Wt VersiTip Flyline

I acquired this line from a friend who mistakenly bought it for double-handed salmon fishing. It is of course intended for single handed fishing for salmon, steelhead or other large freshwater fish. It is decribed in the Rio website as :
"It is the fly line favoured by Alaskan guides for all species and by anadromous fly fishers everywhere. A superb single-handed salmon line."

It has a head length of 38' including the interchangeable 15' tips. The line comes in its original box and the tips come in the custom Rio wallet of 5 tips comprising floating, clear intermediate, type3, type 6 & type8. The tips weigh 10gr each and are brand new& mint (apart from the clear intermediate which was test cast).

I dont see myself ever using this line. If anyone is planning a trip for pacific salmon(or maybe suit a pike flyfisherman) then you might be interested in this line. RRP is £109.99. Will sell for £42 incl. postage. Rio retails the tips at £14.99 each so that seems a reasonable deal.

Please pm if interested. LINE NOW SOLD

Is it suitable for salt water?
If so, I might be interested.

It's also listed under Rio's Saltwater lines so yes so long as it is coldwater. Don't think the coating etc is designed for warm water salt fishing.*

The design of the line is to help it turnover the tips and large flies so would probably work for casting big saltwater patterns.

* Have checked the box. It reads " Rio's VersiTip was developed for float tube fsihing, steelhead, Atlantic salmon and saltwater angling in a one-line-does-all configuration".

Yes its suitable for saltwater. I have one of these lines for Pike fishing. The muilti tip is very easy to use and it saves buying a multitude of lines. Nice line.
