Default British Fly Fair – Win tickets

The British Fly Fair is being held in Stoke-on-Trent on the 30th and 31st October 2010.

Fish&Fly have 3 pairs of tickets to be won courtesy of BFFi (British Fly Fair international).

To be in with a chance to win please go to the BFFi website. Take a look at the exhibitor list and tell us which exhibitor you would most like to visit at the show and why.

Post it in this thread and keep your fingers crossed. If you give us a good reason we may choose you. The competition closes on the 15th October and the winners will be announced shortly after.

Good luck!

Sofi

The show isn't just for experienced tiers or fly fishermen. If you want to try your hand at tying your first fly and get some excellent free tuition come along. There is something for everyone with events such as Fly Tying in Focus Theatre, Fly Fair Forum and Casting Programme. Please take a look at the BFFi website for more information.

Default help for heros

Im going for -help for heros.

As being a serving soldier and been on tour and a keen fly fisherman -I would love to support and get involved in raising funds for our brave armed forces, most of the serious injuries you dont hear about and they need our help.

Default Help for Heros

I read about this charity in Fly Fishing & Fly Tying magazine. Their support for the servicemen and women is a wonderful objective and I'll be pleased to help.

It was my first visit last year, and apart from being a bit starstruck talking to the likes of Oliver Edwards, and one or two other greats in my eyes, the best bit for me, was getting to meet some of the members on here in the flesh so to speak.
We spend so much time in conversaton, swapping stories, learning from each other, and making cyberspace friends on here, that to shake someones hand, and catch up in real time is for me one of the great highlights of the show.

Hi mrtrout,
How do you know you are talking to another member? Almost need a badge or something similar to show you are a FlyForums member.

Do you have any particular exhibitor you would like to meet this year? If you tell me why you want to see one particular exhibitor you might get a pair of freebee tickets.

Best regards,
Sofi

I'd really like to meet the officials of the Wild Trout Trust to discuss their views on stocking trout into waters that have a small but natural head of wild trout.

Default Craig Barr

I'd like to chat to Craig again. Talked with him for about 30 mins last year on the use of UV in trout flies. Truly mind blowing on it's application. He also talked on England Youth and it's future this season.

Turned out he was right about their future too. Nice.

Best Regards

Stuart

Sorry Sofi, missed your reply.
I do have a badge as it happens, but I never wore it last time, didn't need to.
I had a few mobile tel numbers and we made a point of meeting up for a coffee and a chat.
I also went with Buzz, who knew a few members there from the year before so we soon got introduced to each other.
I also recognised a few from forum pictures etc, I was amazed how many members I met in one day, and it was great.
I am really looking forward to meeting up with a Mr Mark Legget of Alternative tackle this year,
his first show at the BFFI.
I have spoken with him several times, and he is stuggling to get his company off the ground at the moment, like everyone else at present times are hard, yet he has good ideas and a fresh approach to things, he will do well in my opinion, and as this is his first time as an exhibitor, I think the show will lift him to new heights.
I shall be stocking up again at Lakeland as usual as well.
Look forward to getting to know a few more new faces again this year, roll on the 30th.
Steven.
