Default Win a Hardy Rod

There are very few votes for the Bonus Snow theme photo competition.

We pull on favours to get these prizes but ss there is so little interest perhaps we should stop these competitions.

It would save the team here some work!

Richard, most of those who have submitted photos haven't even bothered voting, which I find extremely childish. As you've rightly alluded to, waste of time.

I read the thread, admired the pics, and then saw that "voting was open" but not a clue how to vote.

Reading the text in the thread a bit more carefully I saw reference to the gallery, which I found in the menu bar next to User CP, and then stumbled across the competition galleries.

Maybe making it clearer for the newbies/luddites amongst us - perhaps a link to the relevant gallery in the voting is open post would help.

I've voted now

Might even enter in the future.

From my experience of other forums it also pays to post a thread in the more popular of the boards pointing back to the relevant thread.

There might also be an argument for having the competition threads in the general area to maximise views, and votes. It's obviously important that the sponsors see they're getting the right exposure.

The threads could be archived on the competition board once voting closed.

Richard,

I appreciate your hard work, However unless I have missed something obvious it is very time consuming to view all the pictures and then vote and may I suggest that this needn't be.

This is what I found:

1. opening the gallery I am presented with many thumbnails each of which has to be clicked to open.

2. I tried to go from one picture to the next by clicking the next button but each time I did this I had to scroll down to view the picture.

3. Then I tried the slideshow thinking I could scan all the pictures then go back and review the ones I really liked.

4. I still had to scroll down every picture, as instead of a slideshow where the pictures are in a central position to the screen, each image change forces a whole screen refresh.

5. Moreover there seems to be a randomise function and some limit to the amount of pictures presented on the slideshow. As I result Isaw some images several times and some not at all. I still haven't voted for that reason. I will later

FWIW I think all the pictures should be transcribed into a post and a "vote" function installed.

Best Regards
Malcolm

Had the same problem as Endrick, went in to vote but gave up after a hour or so.
