Photo competition rules:
Entrants may submit as many photos as they wish. Images must relate to fly fishing – images of dead fish will not be considered. Sportfish are seeking pin sharp high resolution images (over 5MB) portraying the wonder of fly-fishing suitable for printing either in a landscape or portrait format.
1. Entries must be colour. To be considered the original image must be at least 5 mb. Initially a copy of the photo must be submitted in the FlyForums Gallery and must not be larger than 100kb.
2. Photographer’s warrant to Sportfish that they own the work submitted, that the whole copyright is vested in them or, if the copyright belongs to a third party such as an agency, that the photographer has the right to submit the work free of encumbrances or restrictions and that if the work was commissioned for private and domestic purposes, it is submitted with the permission of the person or organisation who commissioned it.
3. Warrant to Sportfish that model release forms (where appropriate) have been obtained from persons featured in their submitted images for all sales, marketing, educational and publicity uses and that no additional releases are required in respect of names, trademarks, designs or works of art depicted in the work.
4. Photographers agree that Sportfish and Fish and Fly Ltd may reproduce and/or license the reproduction of any entries submitted without any payment to the photographer, model or third party for any sales, marketing, educational and publicity use on and in all media worldwide including catalogues, posters and the internet.
5. If you are under 16 years of age, you must obtain your parent or guardian's permission before entering the competition.
6. The Judges’ decision is final and no discussion or correspondence can be entered into on their decision. They reserve the right to use submitted material as they see fit.
7. Reasonable efforts will be made to notify all photographers as to whether their photograph has been short-listed. Fish and Fly Ltd will announce the winner and runners up on the FlyForums and the winner will be contacted via email. It is the photographers’ responsibility to check on the FlyForums announcement if he/she is a runner up or winner.
8. The responsibility for damage or loss, however caused, is the responsibility of the photographer. Photographers are therefore advised to arrange adequate insurance cover against such risks. Sportfish shall not be liable for any loss or damage, whether or not caused by negligence.
9. Delivery. All entries must be made through the FlyForums gallery.
10. This competition is not open to Fish & Fly or Sportfish employees or contractors or any people involved in the running of the competition, or their immediate family members.
11. Fish & Fly reserves the right to cancel this competition at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, and if circumstances arise outside its control.
12. If a winning entrant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, Fish & Fly reserves the right to either offer the prize to the next best entry.
13. Fish & Fly reserves the right to disqualify any entry which breaches any of these rules or to withhold a prize if in its opinion entries do not reach the required standard.
14. These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
15. The closing date for entries is 31.10.2011 and the winner will be announced by the 30.11.2011.
